In the initial stage of planning our timber-frame home, we were directed to Lance Brunkow by a representative of the local home builders association. Our initial impression was very favorable as Lance was clearly very knowledgeable and personable. We consulted with several other homeowners who had used Brunkow, all of whom reported a positive experience. We also viewed several homes where the quality of workmanship was very evident. This, along with the many positive comments we heard, made it an easy decision to select Brunkow Builders. Lance and his crew were dependable, highly skilled, patient with us and responsive to our questions and ideas. We were extremely satisfied with not only the end result, but also with the process along the way. When we made the decision to add on several years later, we contacted Lance without hesitation. We were pleased to have the opportunity to work with the same crew and were impressed with their ability to create an addition that flows extremely well with the original construction, both inside and out. Home building and home additions are commonly thought of as stressful experiences for families. We can truly say this was not the case for us. We've recommended Brunkow Builders to others without reservation and will continue to do so in the future.

Lance Brunkow and Brunkow Builders did an excellent job of building our home. If you are interested in having a home built in the Eau Claire area, then I would highly recommend Brunkow Builders. Selecting a builder for your home is one of life's major decisions, therefore my husband and I were both detailed and cautious in our selection. To ensure a minimum benchmark of quality, we looked only at builders listed on the Chippewa Valley Homebuilders Association website. We then e-mailed the 63 builders who had provided e-mail addresses. Because we would be in Utah while our home was being built in Wisconsin, excellent communication abilities were a critical criteria in our decision. Lance Brunkow's prompt, courteous, professional, informative and friendly e-mails earned him a spot in our top four finalists.

We had the freedom to specify My husband and I then spent four days in Wisconsin interviewing the top four builders, looking at building sites, and visiting building suppliers. The quality of Lance's work was impressive. He took us through his own home and two other homes he built - all were of very high quality. We knew we could trust him to build our home in our absence. Additionally, we were very impressed with Lance's patience in listening to our wants/needs and thoughtfully and spontaneously being able to sketch out possible building solutions. There in Lance's dining room we formed our "team". The "team" dynamic continued throughout the entire building process; we provided significant input and Lance drew upon his years of expertise to guide our decisions and provide alternative solutions. Lance provided exactly the right amount of guidance and leeway for us. What we wanted with the confidence of knowing that he would make sure we knew alternative solutions before making final decisions. When compromises to our "wants" were in order, Lance explained the reasons so clearly and calmly that the compromise was the logical solution. We are extremely grateful that Lance prevented us from making both costly mistakes and "usability/living" mistakes based on our inexperience.

The geographic separation was not a problem for Lance. He continued his effective communication with weekly (if needed) project-update phone calls, anytime e-mails and project-update photos (via e-mail) He always made us feel as if we were right there on site with him. Additionally, he provided us with direct access to his subcontractors (most of whom I'd highly recommend) so that we could work out final decisions on everything that went into the house. We were very pleased to walk into our new home a week before Christmas and discover that it was even more beautiful than could be pictured with his frequent photos. Due to Lance's quality workmanship on the house, we could focus on upacking and were fully functional for company and Christmas just a week later.We're proud of our Brunkow Builder home!

Our home was originally constructed by Brunkow Builders Inc. in 1982 and they have since added several major additions, remodels and several stylish out-buildings to our home and property. We wouldn’t dream of using anyone else. They take pride in their work and are responsive, professional, and above all, trustworthy. The type of builder everyone wants but doesn’t always get.

My wife and I would highly recommend Brunkow Builders as a contractor for your job. Lance and his team are very conscientious and do quality work. We were extremely impressed with their attention to detail. In our case, we were doing a remodel project involving both of our upstairs bathrooms. At the completion of the project, the remodeled areas matched the existing framework very nicely. For example, the staining of the new wood trim and doors looked as if it was a continuation of the existing woodwork. Our personal interactions with Lance were very positive throughout the project. He was very good about updating us on the progress. Lance let us know about the upcoming schedule in terms of who would be doing what on which day so that we could plan accordingly. Lance and his team were very organized and kept the disruptions to our daily routine to a minimum. We were also very impressed with Lance's ideas regarding the best design for the remodel project in terms of accomplishing our goals and maximizing the use of the space that was available. My wife and I are very pleased with the home built for us by Lance Brunkow and Brunkow Builders Inc. We were very impressed with Lance from the moment we first met him to discuss our building plans. Lance did a wonderful job of incorporating our home ideas into a house plan while making attempts to keep the budget reasonable. He offered great ideas when asked and never tried to force us to accept any of his suggestions. Lance did an amazing and often difficult job of keeping our construction timeline right on schedule. I was also impressed with the carpenters employed by Brunkow Builders. They were always polite and willing to take as much time as necessary to answer all my questions as they were working day to day.
